Sacramento Zoo
8/1/08 - Our 1st trip to the Sacramento Zoo. Abbie was only two weeks old when we made the trek; fortunately she slept the entire time! Brandon & Olivia had a blast seeing all the different animals. Brandon was our guide; he read the map for us (thanks Dora!). The nonly bummer was the low/no battery on the camera! But we all had a great time & can't wait to go back again!
Strollers
Is it bad that I want (need!) another stroller?
To date, I've owned four: Graco Quattro (hated it), Maclaren Techno (loved it), Peg Perego Aria Twin (tolerated it), and the Baby Trend Snap 'n Go (it's nice). And one would think that'd be enough.
But Abbie is about to outgrow the infant seat (snif). Which she should fit in for quite a bit longer, according to her height & weight (not 30" nor 30lbs). But the straps are getting rather difficult to get on her. So...if she's graduating to the convertible carseat soon, then no more Snap 'n Go. But I'm not sure I want her in the umbrella/Maclaren yet. I like that she can lay down & sleep when I'm out & about. Unfortunately, what I want is a Peg Perego Pliko P3 (or something like that). Something I can lay her down in with a blanket.
Now of course David doesn't get this. Why won't the Mac work? Well, when the other two were this age, it was summer. So I didn't need to bundle them up in the stroller. However, what I want is rather pricey, over $300 for a new one, around $200 for last year's color.
Hopefully Abbie will last at least another month in the infant seat. By then I can pick up a new stroller for her :) My justification: the Mac is 3 1/2 years old, and I don't expect it to last until Abbie is out of strollers. So I'll need a new one at some point anyhow. And Olivia gets tired when we're out shopping. The Pliko has a standing pad for tired feet.
So maybe we'll make it to five strollers after all.

Christmas 2008
(I'm using my blog to journal for my scrapbooks. I don't have to remember everything once I go to scrap, and anyone who reads this doesn't have to squint at the text on my pages. So bear with me.)
We had an absolutely awesome Christmas this year! Brandon got his Batcave from Santa, along with some Diego toys, and Olivia got her Bitty Baby (Baby Carol) and an ice cream set. Abbie got a really cool Leap Frog play table, but she was so sick that she really didn't get to play with it until a few days later. In fact, she slept thru present opening here and at Mama & Papa's! Poor baby!

Gingerbread houses
This year I decided to take Annette Spangler (MOPS) advice & let the kids glop on the icing to decorate their very own gingerbread houses. Although I had to thin the icing WAY down so it would spread, and the kids wanted me to spread it for them, I think they came out so cool this year! Mom wasn't sure right away, but once we got them put together...they are spectacular! And 100% Brandon & Olivia!

Christmas
Was so much fun this year! With three little ones, we thought it could be crazy. Then everyone got sick a few days before, and well, I knew it WOULD be crazy!
Christmas Eve was at our house, and we were all supposed to go to church at 4. But Abbie wasn't feeling well, and finally settled down for a nap at 3:30. Even if she hadn't crashed, she wasn't well enough to go to the nursery. So we stayed home. And got a call from David at 3:55 that the service was full (even though we had to get tickets in advance) and they were coming home. My mom & Kathy got here shortly after that; Dad stayed for church & David stayed in the 3 year old room with the kids.
