I was just reading this post on Ali Edwards' blog (about her daughter, not the winner).
And it reminded me of the everyday normal stuff that I need to remember. Abbie gets herself out of her high chair each night (we don't use the tray & just push the chair up to the table for her). She walks over to my husband, the bath giver, and tries to take her top off. This is her sign for, "it's bath time dude! Pronto!"
I think I know what my POTD needs to be pretty soon...before we have to remind her that she stinks & needs a bath :)

I spruced it up!
If you've been to my blog in the last day, you may have noticed a few changes. I didn't do much, but I did keep changing the new background until I found one I liked. It was time for a change, and I feel so fresh & springy...and I didn't even have to break out the vacuum :)
Now if only it were so easy to freshen up my house...

Project LIFE, 2/28-3/5
I mentioned before that I'm doing Project Life this year; basically one photo a day to document 2010 in our household. I've taken pictures of random things like the laundry, the sign at a grocery store, and tons of my kids.
This week I decided to add the day & date directly to the photo in PS Elements. Super easy. The day is CK Ali's Hand, downloaded a while ago. The date is Century Gothic. I *heart* the way they look together. I think this is the combo I used on my daughter's birth announcements in 2008.

I love picking up daffodils at the store!
I took Olivia out front to take a picture of her braids, & got this instead

Sneak Peeks #2
Part two of my February Kit from Green Tangerines:
I had fun with these October Afternoon journaling labels. It's just a fun extra touch. And I added a grunge mask to my photos in Photoshop Elements. Mine was a free download from a digital scrapbooking book I got a few years ago. I like the "inked" edge I get without having to actually ink up a photo (& then hope it dries!).
And one more fun sneak peek: one of the straight clips.
Again I used the 3/4" circle punch. I adhered it to the top of the clip with a glue dot. This clip really looks like what I call "gymnast's barrettes" since that's what all the gymnasts in the Olympics seem to wear in their hair. I wanted to give it a more custom look, so I added the paper & put some of the glossy accents on top. Unfortunately I got a little air bubble that I couldn't get out. So I added a fun little rhinestone right on top...perfect :)
Hopefully the full layouts will be up soon here. Until then, check out everyone else's fun layouts using this kit.

Some sneak peeks
I told you a few days ago that I'd been playing with my new February Kit from Green Tangerines...so much fun!
Real wood paper from Creative Imaginations...how cool is that? That fun metal tag is from Tim Holtz, and the patterned paper is from Basic Grey (so are the big letter stickers). And more little letters from My Little Shoebox. I love those :)
Here I made some fun flowers by punching a 3/4" circle for the center & a 1 1/4" circle for the outer part. I crinkled it all up & poked a brad in the center. A perfect little accent!
More fun paper here, and those awesome clips! I punched out a 3/4" circle of patterned paper, added a letter sticker and then some glossy accents from Ranger. That stuff is awesome! I love making my own "epoxy" stickers :) I added it to the Basic Grey letter stickers as well to add some dimension.
More fun sneaks peeks to come...and the full layouts once these are up in the Green Tangerine's Flickr account.

Happy Birthday!
I made him a vanilla cake (his request) with whipped cream frosting. We had a great party at home with a bunch of his friends from school and his new best friend from around the corner.

And in honor of his birthday, a couple of birthday cards I've made in the last week. They're almost the same, and helped me use up some remaining bits from my May kit.
